The international CAE conference has become a traditional event in Simulation Based Engineering. This year (the 33rd) was held in Vicenza last 6th and 7th November. Design Methods came back, after three year of absence, with two papers titled respectively “Constrained Geometric Parameterization by Mesh Morphing for a Catamaran Foils Optimization Procedure” and “Shape optimization of 3d printed high performances automotive parts“. The first was focused on the demonstration of the RBF mesh morphing approach capability to face complex and strongly constrained geometric parameterization problems, the second described a shape optimization procedure applied to high performance automotive components manufactured adopting a 3D printing technology.
