A collaboration with BioCardioLab, a research laboratory of the Bioengineering Division of the G. Monasterio Foundation, was activated to develop numerical models for the simulation of cardiovascular hemodynamics and biomedical devices. The G. Monasterio Foundation is a highly-specialized centre for the treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases, included rare disorders such as congenital heart defects, hereditary dyslipidemias, hemocromatosis, pulmonary hypertension, and amyloidosis. The partnership includes the university of Rome “Tor Vergata” and the software vendors Ansys and RBF Morph. Object of research is the development of Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) numerical models of human cardiovascular systems involving high fidelity and Reduced Order Models (ROM).
